Do I need a Facebook Page to connect Instagram?

Whether you need a Facebook Page depends on how you want to use Instagram in the platform.

If you only need to schedule and publish content on Instagram and access basic metrics, you can connect your account directly with your credentials. You do not need to link a Facebook Page.

If you need access to all available features, your Instagram account must be linked to a Facebook Page.

If you connect directly through Instagram and still get access to all features, you may be using an unauthorized tool. That breaks Instagram’s policies and can put your account at risk.

You do not need to post on your Facebook Page when using Instagram. The Page can be linked only to manage the Instagram connection and unlock all available features in the platform.

I don't have a Facebook Page

If you do not have a Facebook Page yet, create one directly from your Instagram profile:

1. Open your Instagram account and tap your profile photo in the bottom right.

2. Select Edit profile.

3. In Public Business Information, select Page.

4. Tap Create Facebook Page or Connect an existing page.

5. Select Create a new Facebook page.

6. Tap Done once you have selected or created a page.
