Troubleshooting for Scheduling and Publishing

Color or Quality difference when publishing my content

If your published image or video looks different from the original, the issue is usually caused by color mode, file format, or the way the social network processes media.

Color changes

Images

You may notice changes in color, tones, or quality when publishing from the planner, especially on Instagram. This happens because the Instagram API uses RGB color mode. If your image uses a different color profile, Instagram converts it to RGB and that can change the final result.

To avoid this, convert the image to RGB color mode before uploading it. In Photoshop, for example, you can find this under Edit > Color Settings. More details are available here.

Videos

If a video looks yellowish after publishing, it was likely recorded in iPhone HDR mode. HDR video is not supported for API publishing. Convert the video with an editor such as CapCut or Final Cut Pro. Apple explains how to disable HDR mode here.

HEVC files are also not supported for automatic publishing. To avoid issues, use MP4 instead of MOV. In planning, MOV files are converted to MP4 automatically, but exporting as MP4 from the start is more reliable.

Quality changes

Image size matters. If the image is too small, the social network enlarges it and quality can drop. If it is too large, the network may compress it and make it look blurry.

To reduce quality loss, upload images that match each network's recommended requirements. You can review the supported specifications here.

For text clarity in images, a resolution of 300 DPI is recommended.
